Does the annual fee auto-renew?

The plan will auto-renew after 12 months. Members may contact ARAG or log in to their member account to opt out of auto-renewal.

Can prospective members view ARAG’s attorney coverage in their local area to help them understand attorney selection?

Yes, you can access general network attorney information from the Find an Attorney directory (drop down link in Network Attorneys) on the Legal Now informational site to get an idea of the selection of network attorneys within 0-100 miles of their ZIP code. You can also search by most major metro cities.

How do members get started using their plan?

Once enrolled, members can immediately create an account on the member portal at ARAGlegal.com/account and begin using their plan. All members receive a welcome email with details to help them get started and understand how to get the most from their plan.

How do members access detailed information about network attorneys?

Once enrolled, members receive access to more detailed information on ARAG network attorneys including their license(s), education, experience, areas of practice, office location and contact information, as well as ratings and reviews from ARAG plan members.

How are attorneys identified and vetted?

Averaging more than 20 years of experience, ARAG network attorneys are individually selected from practices across the country. ARAG actively recruits attorneys who are licensed to practice in their state and are in good standing with the relevant regulatory authority in the state(s) where they are licensed and practicing law. ARAG re-credentials each attorney annually to ensure they are still meeting the requirements of the ARAG network agreement.

Does ARAG pick the attorney for members?

ARAG provides a list of network attorneys who practice in the area of law that relates to the members’ specific legal matter. You can review each attorney’s detailed profile including ratings and reviews from members and choose a network attorney who is the best fit for your situation.

What resources does ARAG offer to help members choose a network attorney for their legal need?

For more complex cases requiring advice and/or representation ARAG provides a CaseAssist confirmation which includes coverage details, a detailed list of network attorneys matched to their legal need and the attorney’s normal rate after the 25% reduction.

For less complex cases where the member is looking for more immediate advice, ARAG’s Customer Care team will connect members to an ARAG telephone attorney who is licensed in their state. The attorney can offer advice, as well as prepare and review documents.

How does the client access legal help?

Members can log in or call ARAG Customer Care to start a case with an attorney. They’ll answer a few questions to help us confirm coverage and provide experienced network attorneys who can work with them over the phone, online or in person to help resolve their legal issue. If a member is not sure if their issue is a legal issue, they can start by contacting ARAG Customer Care at 800-247-4184, Monday - Friday, 7 am – 7 pm, Central time) or email service@ARAGlegal.com.

How does it work?

When a member meets with a reduced fee network attorney for legal advice and representation, the attorney bills the member directly. Members receive 25% off the attorney’s normal rate. The member is responsible for costs incurred such as notary fees, copying costs, postage, etc.

When a member works with a telephone network attorney for advice, document review or preparation, the attorney bills ARAG directly for the service. ARAG pays the attorney service fees. The member is responsible for costs incurred such as notary fees, copying costs and postage.

DIY Docs and the Learning Center are available 24/7 and can be accessed by logging into their ARAG account at ARAGlegal.com/account.

How can members learn more about their plan after they purchase?

A great first step to explore all the ways your legal plan can help:

Do I have to use the same attorney every time?

No. For each legal issue, we’ll help connect you with network attorneys who are experienced in the area of law you need. You choose the network attorney you wish to work with.

What if I want to use an attorney who is not in the ARAG network?

Legal Now plan benefits do not extend to services provided by attorneys outside of the ARAG Network.

How do I cancel my policy?

Once enrolled, the annual plan fee is non-refundable. However, you can cancel the auto-renewal anytime via your online member account or by contacting ARAG Customer Care at 800-247-4184.

Does Legal Now help with attorney costs for pre-existing conditions?

Yes, the plan can be used for pre-existing legal matters. Members can receive 25% off the attorney’s normal rate. Members are responsible for other costs incurred such as notary fees, copying costs, postage, etc.

What Doesn’t ARAG’s Legal Now plan cover?

Legal now does not cover:

  • Matters against us, the named plan member or the company or partner offering the plan.
  • Matters arising out of a business interest, investment interest, employment matters, employee benefits, your role as an officer or director of an organization and patents or copyrights.
  • Matters deemed by us to be frivolous or lacking merit.
  • Matters outside the jurisdiction of the United States of America.
